DIY Journals

It's always fun to record memories; not just in scrapbooks but in journals too. The kids keep a journal for one family adventure every year. We then end up with a little keepsakes or both writing and thoughts from a certain age. It's really fun to look back at those moments in time.

For this summer, I pulled out the Azalea collection to create a couple little journals. The fun thing about this collection is that the A side and B side are great opposites!

I created 5x7 cover pieces and then trimmed the end with a die for the scallop. I also used a small single hole punch to create the holes to tie the covers and pages covers together. The pages inside are 4x6, and white copy paper that has been used at one end and clear at the other. (We try to recycle whenever we can).

The covers are decorated with the die cut stickers from the Azalea collections, ribbon, twine. I found that I needed to pass the twine through the holes several times (at least three) for the pages to be held together firmly enough to keep the journal's shape. I am looking forward to seeing these put to use!

Thanks for stopping by!
Sarah
